[nosgoth]Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Remaster To Be Announced This Year

It’s been a long time since we last saw a new entry in the Legacy of Kain series, but it looks like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, one of the most popular games in the franchise, is making its comeback on modern systems in the future.

Speaking of the latest episode of the XboxEra podcast, co-founder Shpeshal Nick revealed that a remaster of the classic game should be announced later this year at an event like Gamescom or The Game Awards. Not much else has been revealed about the game, so we don’t know who is developing it and how much it will differ from the original release.

While we have to take this with a grain of salt, it’s worth noting that Shpeshal Nick revealed some information just before the official reveals, such as Hades coming to Xbox Game Pass and more, so there may be some truth to what has been revealed.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was originally released on the first PlayStation, before being ported to other systems such as the SEGA Dreamcast and PC. The game is still one of the most interesting third-person action-adventure titles due to its great writing style, story and characters.

As Raziel, stalk the shadows of Nosgoth as they prey on your former vampire brethren in your quest to destroy your creator Kain. After being betrayed and executed by Kain, you return to Nosgoth on an epic revenge mission. A milestone in 3D adventure.

  Most important features:

Feed on the souls of your enemies

Explore the vast 3D world of Nosgoth packed with 60 hours of gameplay

Shift between the material and the spectral planes in real time

Hunt down 5 different tribes of murderous vampires with an arsenal of deadly hand-to-hand, projectile and environmental weapons.

More than 100 films with 45 minutes of voice-over provide a dark, gothic story

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is now available on PC and older game systems. We’ll keep you updated on the remaster as more comes in, so stay tuned for the latest.
